Friday was cold and breezy, but at least it wasn't raining, so we bundled up and made it "Monument Day". We visited the Washington Monument first, then walked to the World War II Memorial.
We even found the little engraving of Kilroy.
Then we walked to the Lincoln Memorial and stood right where Martin Luther King stood when he delivered his "I have a dream" speech.
We visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and watched students finding names and taking rubbings.
Next was the Korean War Memorial,
and the Martin Luther King Memorial.
The FDR Memorial was large and nicely laid out with quotes and statues. If only every President could remember this simple fact:
