Then Magically, It Appeared

   

 

Our buddy boat, Madhatter, knew of a cool thing to see at Rudder Cut Cay, so we swung in there after a short motor up from the marina. We got anchored, gathered our snorkel gear and headed over to a little bight not far from our boats. After searching around for a while, fighting the currents, and having to use the dinghy to rescue two of our group, this magically appeared below us:

By then the current had abated and we all enjoyed seeing this sculpture of a mermaid and a piano. The illusionist, David Copperfield, owns this island and a few others right around here. He runs a very exclusive resort and I guess he wanted something for his guests to see underwater, so he commissioned this sculpture. Whatever the story is, it was a really cool thing to see.
