Remember those Sacagawea dollar coins that came out in 2000? Remember how nobody liked them, and there was no bin in a cash register drawer to hold them, and folks got them confused with quarters, and they just sort of faded out of use?
Well, I know where they all are now! There are in El Salvador being used to pay bus fare. Yes, the official currency in El Salvador is the American Dollar and literally millions of them are in circulation here being used every day as a quick and easy way to pay the $1.00 fare. And we have used them ourselves on our bus trip to the big city of Zacatecoluca (zah kah tay koh LOO kah) yesterday. And those Salvadoran buses? Now they are worthy of a whole post themselves!
